Naseem Khozein lives in Arlington, TX and is teaching students ages 12 and above.

About Naseem
Naseem Khozein (pronounced "Ko-zane") received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Texas in 2006 under Dr. Eugene Gratovich.  Previously she studied at Baylor University under Dr. Eka Gogichashvili.  In both universities she studied alternative genres of music in addition to classical repertoire including jazz improvisation, Brazilian ensemble, Persian ensemble, and piano.
After getting her Bachelor of Arts in Music, Naseem auditioned in Boston, MA and won a spot with Barrage, a Canadian-based violin troupe that incorporates violin solo and ensemble performing, as well as vocals and other instruments (like the tin whistle!).  She learned many new styles of music here including fiddling and Chinese folklore tunes.

In Barrage, Naseem performed for thousands of people all over the world, and traveled through Europe, Asia, and the North American continent.  Festivals in Europe, television appearances, and high profile performing art centers became a way of life, until the last year in Barrage where the group focused on school workshops, infusing inspiration to be expressive while playing and encouraging young students to have fun!

After touring the world with Barrage for nearly 4 years, Naseem returned back to the U.S. to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree.  She then served as the Middle School Orchestra Director for Waco ISD and High School Orchestra Director for Grand Prairie High School, leading them to their first UIL Sweepstakes in years. Naseem also performs with Persian artist, Farzad, in which she learns all songs by ear and collaborates with different artists from around the globe.

Naseem's Teaching Philosophy...

"The violin is a challenging instrument, and the battle for perfection is daily.   I try to find ways to enjoy this daily challenge and look forward to improving technique, yet still like to have the laid-back attitude to sit and play a nice easy song that I love. I have a sort of patience that I've learned from some of my greatest teachers, and I don't want my students to give up.  I want them to care, and not to give up..."
